The Verkehrsschule Zug is an association of independent driving instructors. Over the past 40 years, we have provided the best possible road traffic instruction. Our driving instructors benefit from ongoing further training. This ensures that we are always in a position to offer you up-to-date and serious preparation for both the theory and practical examinations in all driving categories.
This course is mandatory in order to obtain the driving license for motor vehicles and motorbikes. You will complete the course with us within two days.
In the emergency first responder course, you learn how to react correctly in the event of an accident. That means assessing emergency situations correctly, preventing further harm to victims and helpers and providing immediate life-saving aid in accordance with the situation.
The courses are conducted in dialect / Swiss German (High German). Your german language skills should be at least at the A2 of the European Language Portfolio. Please contact your course instructor for further informations.
We offer you the chance to practise and test your theoretical knowledge using 650 questions on 14 different questionnaires or via an interactive solution using a PC. This exam preparation corresponds to the official examination conducted by the Road Traffic Licensing Department.
Since 1 January 2008, it has been required that the theory exam be taken in one of the national languages of Switzerland (German, French or Italian).
Theory centre opening times: Monday to Thursday, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The online learning portal for the theory test:
Your traffic safety course must begin on a Monday! The traffic safety course can only be attended if you have a learner’s license. Registration is not required, although we do recommend that you book a place for the desired date.

The aim of the mandatory traffic safety courses is to provide an overview of the most important aspects of road traffic. With this in mind, themes such as road conditions, road safety and environmentally responsible driving are explored.

Our driving instructors provide you with safe and competent guidance for your practical driving test. After you have passed the test, we provide the mandatory 2-phase advanced training courses for new drivers. Since 1 April 2003, authorisation to drive a category-B vehicle (minibuses and cars) while towing a trailer has no longer been automatically incorporated into the driving license. This means that a separate car trailer test must be taken in order to obtain the relevant authorisation. Feedback from our customers has shown that many motorists are not aware of this requirement. Driving a vehicle while towing a trailer without having obtained the relevant driving license category constitutes the offence of “driving without a valid diving license” as stipulated in the Road Traffic Act SVG Art. 95 and is subject to prosecution.
In the event of an accident, the insurance company may even deny coverage. If you or your employees need to drive vehicles towing a trailer, you can easily ascertain if you or they have the relevant authorisation. The credit-card format driving licenses must indicate category B/E while the old blue driving licenses must indicate category E. If either you or your employees do not have the authorisation to drive while towing a trailer, we will be happy to provide you with the necessary training.
The practical exercises are a prerequisite for the safe handling of a motorbike or scooter and form the basis of advance training on the road.
This basic training course must be completed within 4 months of the learner’s license being issued. The learner’s license is then extended for a further 12 months.
